Did you know there are free summer meals offered at participating schools, pools, parks, libraries, NYCHA, and truck locations for everyone under 18 this summer?
It's true.
This summer, breakfast and lunch will continue beyond the scheduled institutional school year, and this program is offered from June 27th through September 4th.
No registration, documentation, or identification is required to receive a free breakfast or lunch meal for all children 18 years and under.
School Food's four mobile truck locations offer meals seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They are stationed in the Bronx at Orchard Beach on Mondays through Fridays, and Roberto Clemente Park on Saturdays and Sundays.
In Manhattan, they're located at Sara D. Roosevelt Park, and in Queens their truck locations are Flushing Meadow-Corona Park Zoo parking lot at 111th Street and Corona Plaza at Roosevelt Avenue and 103rd Street.
Many children are eligible for free meals. To find out if a child qualifies for this service, fill out a paper application and return it to that respective child's school, or apply online at nyc.applyforlunch.com.
To find free food locations near you, use the search feature on website, download the SchoolFood app, or text "NYCMeals" to 877-877.
