We know you get excited about Gossip Girl on the CW (before that it was definitely Sex and the City); and guys, before you'll ever admit to liking Gossip Girl, you were probably huge into HBO's The Sopranos.
So what could these two wildly-unrelated television shows possibly have in common? Silvercup Studios in Queens, of course.
And now, they're officially planning an expansion into the South Bronx. Which means the celebrity traffic in and out of the Boogie Down is about to increase. By a lot.
Silvercup Studios plans to renovate an existing 115,000 square-foot warehouse into their newest studio, which will also include shops, offices, and other support space in addition to studios.
Bronx President Ruben Diaz Jr. expects this to change the game for the Bronx entirely.
"To have the film industry come here now, in the same studios that brought the world Sex and the City, and The Sopranos and other big shows will not only create jobs, but will let the world know something great is happening in the Bronx," Diaz said.
The $35 million dollar expansion project is expected to bring 80-100 construction jobs to the Bronx, as well as 400 production industry jobs, which is all excellent news.
Current Silvercup Studios projects include Girls, Elementary, and Madam Secretary. So who knows, you might just be on your way to sample beers at The Bronx Brewery and all of a sudden, maybe you will run into Lena Dunham.
Regardless, in our very humble opinions, this exciting expansion is just another fabulous reason to visit the Bronx. Now what are you waiting for?
