Anyone nostalgic for the winter days when the humidity still enabled breathing; when we didn't all sweat through all of our shirts, and you could pile under your blankets, stay inside all day, and not feel guilty?
Yeah, we feel that. But never fear!
We're here, we're near, and we've got some tips to steer clear of the heat.
Because soon, it's going to be dominating all of your days.
Summer's going to smack you as hard as your stomach smacked that pool on your worst belly flop, and you'll be desperate for tips on how to keep cool.
Don't worry New York City, we got you.
1. Ice cream

Ice cream is so necessary in the summer. It performs several critical functions, like cooling you off as it slides down your throat and into your stomach, spreading that lovely, icy feeling throughout your whole body.
It's also delicious, and is way preferable to anything hot or especially warm in the middle of July. It's possibly the most delicious dessert, in our opinions, but we're probably biased because we're ice cream enthusiasts.
It's also a fun activity to do with your friends, a date, or your roommate when you're walking home from yoga, you happen to pass 16 Handles and you couldn't possibly imagine not going in.

2. Iced coffee
the3littlepigz Some days you just need the 30oz coffee...😴😴😴 #starbuckscoffee #nyc #summer #icedcoffee
NYC drinks seven times more coffee than the rest of America, according to the Washington Post.
So it's no surprise that in addition to the Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts sprinkled on every corner, we also have lots of dope coffee shops that aren't chains.
When you've already sweated half way through your shirt, and your sweaty hair is matted on the back of your neck, the last thing you want is a cup of steaming coffee. That'll just make your sweating problem worse.
But obviously, just because it's summer doesn't mean we're going to be running around any less. They call us the city that never sleeps for a reason, and since we never sleep, we need to be consuming 7x more coffee than the rest of America to keep our rockstar status alive.
Which makes a nice, refreshing, freezing cup of iced coffee the obvious move here. Iced coffee quenches your thirst, cools you down, and wakes you up. It really doesn't get much better than that.
And if you haven't heard, Dunkin' Donuts will soon be delivering.
3. Beaches

It's 100+ degrees. You're sweltering. It's Saturday, and you want to have a good day.
Hanging around the sweating streets, packing yourselves into sweating subways, and sweating off your makeup in this city's humidity just will not cut it.
You need to go to the beach. You need to bring your pals, some cold beers, and sunscreen. Then, once you arrive at the beach, sprint right into the ocean.
Hang there for as long as you need, taking in the gorgeous scenery around you. Then, head back to your towel to tan, listen to music, or read... until the heat becomes too much again. Rinse, dry off, repeat.
If you're wondering what beach to go to, you have lots of options, like these NYC beaches, or if you feel like traveling a bit more, you could hit up these beautiful beaches in Jersey.
Regardless, the beach is a foolproof way to cool down on a hot summer day.
4. Pools

Feeling wild? Adventurous? Like a total badass? Then sneak into one of these swanky rooftop pools.
If not, put on your bathing suit, grab your towel and your combination lock (bring this! they won't let you in without it!) and head to one of NYC's free pools for a refreshing summer dip.
,5. Air conditioning
jamihow and this my friends is as close to central air as we can get. literally a "central" fan blowing "air"/wind. thanks nyc. #nycAC
Buy an air conditioner. Just do it.
No, we weren't hired by any air conditioning company to say this, and we really don't care which one you pick. But we promise that if you're trying to save your $100 by not buying an air conditioner, and your big plan is just to sweat and wake up half the night, you're doing it wrong.
The $100 you spend on an air conditioner, and however much extra you wind up spending on electricity as a result, will be the best money you've ever spent this summer.
Trust us, after a long, sweaty day at work, and an amazing shower afterwards, the moment you sink into your bed in an ice cold bedroom will be the best moment of your life.
Having an air conditioner in NYC in the middle of July is about as good as bed-gasms get.
6. The subway

Your morning walk to the subway is sweaty, obviously. The sun is beating down on your skin, your makeup is running down your cheek, and your hopes for looking good today are basically squelched.
Then, you step onto the train into the glory of air conditioning. This must be what heaven feels like, amiright?
7. Restaurants
Check out our suggestions for outdoor dining here and here.
But once the weather gets too oppressive for actual outdoor eating, you may want to seek refuge inside an air conditioned restaurant.
Really, any air conditioned restaurant. Besides the chains in Times Square, of course. We know you're no tourist.
But when it comes to ducking out of the wrath of the heat, nothing can beat the moment you step through the doorway of a well-air conditioned restaurant, and feel refreshment wash through your body.
8. Summer clothing
Buy the most breathable sundress for $10. Spots like Forever 21, H&M, and Urban Outfitters are definitely the best options for summertime clothes that don't cost too much and still look great.
Revel in the glory of dresses, and shorts, and flip flops. Utilize these to the highest degree! Do not be that dummy caught in 95 degree heat wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt.
