In fact, we don't think these people understand what anarchy would really entail.
Here's what it'd be like to live in an anarchist society: people would get shot for their shoes, and there'd be no government to intervene. Everything would be complete chaos.
And everyone who thinks differently is either way too naive about humanity or really hasn't been paying attention.
Yesterday's flag burning does not acknowledge that these people burning the American flag still enjoy America's liberties and protection.
If it weren't for the First Amendment that guarantees freedom of speech and the right to assemble, they wouldn't have been able to hold that protest in the first place.
In fact, if they lived in another country, they might be arrested for voicing their views.

Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park has historical relevance. It was originally named Fort Putnam, which was located there during the Revolutionary War.
According to CBS, the protestors also burned a Confederate Flag "to demonstrate for the Charleston nine and all of those killed by racist violence in America."

CBS also reported that the group stated, "We maintain, unwaveringly that both the Confederate flag, and the American flag are symbols of oppression."
We think the group should be protesting racist attacks in America, not protesting America-- the country that guarantees them the right to protest.
The Charleston attack was not an American perpetrating a crime against another.

To the contrary, the Charleston Shooting was a terrorist attack. It was a case of a terrorist murdering Americans. We were devastated when those nine Americans were killed, and we all rejoiced when Bree Newsome removed the Confederate Flag from the South Carolina Statehouse.
The Confederate Flag should not be grouped with, nor burned with, the American Flag. Hopefully these flag burning anarchists know how the Civil War ended.
And since the Fourth of July is rapidly approaching, we'd prefer that everyone take some time to be grateful for the United States, rather than defamatory.
Let's use this holiday to remember those lives needlessly stolen in South Carolina last month, and the rest of the needlessly stolen American lives throughout our history. Let's be grateful for our freedom, our stable government, and the liberties it provides us.
America isn't perfect.
We have a lot of work to do to equalize our society, to manifest the liberty and justice for everyone that the Constitution promises. But let's use this holiday to get one step closer to that goal.
Burning an American flag isn't helping. It's contrary to the spirit of American Independence Day.
