According to NBC, college student David Karnauch was recently visiting New York City from Tennessee.
He climbed a beam atop the Brooklyn Bridge "on impulse" and took a selfie with a selfie stick. Then, he posted the picture to Instagram. Now, Karnauch might become that one kid who ruined a good thing for everyone else.
Karnauch told NBC he was never questioned or stopped, though in the video below, he does admit it was "not a smart thing to do."
We think that's a no-brainer, Karnauch, but that's just us.
NBC said this is just the most recent instance of tourists behaving dangerously on the bridge.
A French tourist climbed the bridge in November, and a Russian visitor did the same in August. Both to take pictures. Both, according to NBC, were sentenced to community service.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism John J. Miller told NBC, "The person most endangered was the individual whose goal seems to be bringing attention to himself. It was, however, irresponsible and illegal. Had the officers patrolling the bridge arrived while he was there, he would have been arrested, as others have been."
State Senator Daniel Squadron told NBC the most recent bridge climbing incident "shows the NYPD can't be everywhere all the time. We need to create an environment where this isn't possible."
Which might mean higher bridge security. Which would be no fun for anyone.
