The theme of this year's Summer on the Hudson Picture Show has been dubbed "Lawns, Parks, Estates and Forests."
What does that mean, you might ask? Well, it vacillates around thematic references to the movies playing this year.
From the wildly popular Jurassic Park airing July 1st at 8 p.m. to the just-as cult-revered Edward Scissorhands on July 8th, you kinda get what they're doing with the overall theme here.
Now get out your calendar because lying out on a soft blanket beside the Hudson River and checking out a great movie sounds like a pretty lovely way to spend a summer evening to us.
Beasts of the Southern Wild will play on July 29th and Moonrise Kingdom will be shown on August 5th.
And we're not the only ones that know about this in New York City, since it's one of the summer's most epic evening things-to-do.
So simply get there an hour (or two) early so you can get a spot close enough to see the screen.

All these movies will air at Pier I in Riverside Park South (Hudson River and West 70th Street) and they're all completely free.
So bring a date, your little sister, or your roommate and gear up for one of the chillest events of the summer.
