The new oldest human on the planet now lives in Brooklyn, New York. (Where else, right?)

Her name is Susannah Mushatt Jones, and according to the New York Daily News, she's turning 116 on July 6th.

Jones became the world's oldest person after 116-year-old Jeralean Talley died Wednesday in suburban Detroit, reported the Gerontology Research Group.

Her senior center in East New York has been throwing her parties annually, and this year's celebration will be held on July 7th.

Though Jones has been blind for 15 years, is hard of hearing, and uses a wheelchair, she's still rockin' out (figuratively, that is). Lois Judge, her niece, said she eats up to four strips of bacon and eggs every morning.

"She eats very hearty, three good meals," Judge told The Daily News.

Jones was born in 1899 and has lived in New York City since 1923, so the landscape of communication, technology, and humankind as a whole has drastically altered in her lifetime.

"What's going on is incredible," Judge said. "Who would have thought?"
