New Yorkers: Here's What Your Favorite Drink Says About You (And Where to Find 'Em in NYC)

"Whatta you drinking?"

Everyone has their go-to at the bar, their signature drink, if you will. So what kind of guy or gal are you?

Whether you're crushing $2 Bud Lights, pounding back Fireball shots, sipping on whiskey without rocks, or drinking wine spritzers at the bar, there's a lot to be said about who you are just based on what you're drinkin'.

Curious? Find out below what 12 signature drinks say about you and where to find the most people knockin' them back in New York City.

1. Malibu Bay Breeze

1_

If you're the Malibu Bay Breeze type, you're most likely trying to achieve the same level of drunkenness as your friends without the yucky alcohol taste.

At some point, you'll decline a round of shots because you're sticking to your Malibu. Probably during the night the phrase "Malibu Bay Breeze" will come out of your mouth at least thirty-two times.

As your friends chug through pitcher after pitcher of beer, you sip quietly on that Malibu and acknowledge that you're definitely NOT a part of this group.

You probably wear a ton of Lilly Pulitzer and have a boyfriend who you're texting nonstop in an effort to convince him to come out to the bar.

2. Vodka soda

2

You dabble in a cranberry vodka every now and then, but you're super conscious about watching what you drink.

Not because you don't want to be the drunkest bitch in the bar, but because you don't need to splurge calories on alcohol and ruin your daily calorie consumption that has been very on track.

Why do you think it's healthy? I dunno, you say, because it's clear? Because seltzer doesn't have any calories? TBH, you're not really convinced or sure what the health benefits of a vodka soda are.

Your girlfriend from college who has been dieting for her wedding told you a few months ago that she's drinking vodka sodas from now on when she goes out so that she can fit into her wedding dress.

Single as you are, you aspire to be this woman one day, so you're on the vodka soda game too. That way, you can trick some unsuspecting bachelor into thinking you're super fit and health-conscious!

3. $2 draft beer

3sarahmichelle

This isn't some kind of awesome happy hour special. You're probably a college kid drinking $2 Bud Lights at the local college bar.

If you're not a college kid, you're probably broke as a joke. Your checking account has exactly $65 left in it and these singles are leftover change from the dozen eggs you've been surviving on this week.

That being said, broke people still need to get drunk too, so that's where the $2 drafts come in. You show up to the bar with your credit card hidden deep in your pockets somewhere (don't worry, you'll probably whip it out later once all these cheap beers settle in) and a stack of like eight to ten singles in your wallet.

But you're not worried because this could buy you like... five beers.

4. Vodka cranberry or Cosmo

4

As far as the most delicious mixed drinks go, this is probably it, but that being said, you're unoriginal. Actually, you're probably just downright basic.

You probably came to this bar with a clique of chicks who are trying to look single, sophisticated, and sexy, and you are no exception.

All of you are drinking vodka cranberries or cosmos because you think these drinks will make you look super hot and irresistible like you're fresh out of a scene of Sex and the City, or something like that.

You're also likely the type that ordered these because everyone else was getting one and you didn't know what to order.

5. Rum and coke

5

You never drink soda any other time except when you're drinking a rum and Coke...which is why you're justifying why you ordered this drink to yourself and others.

You just love a good rum and Coke, it's totally your guilty pleasure at the bar. The flavors, they're just so perfect together. And it's all you've ever wanted.

Where in NYC? Rum House.

6. $12 draft beer

This means one of two things: you're either at Yankee Stadium or beer is sacred to you. Most likely, you're the latter: the beer snob.

While all your other friends are sticking to beers that are decently good (Stella, Yuengling, Blue Moon, etc.), you're going for the most unique, obscure craft brew you can find.

When you take the first sip of this rare beer, you want to pretend you know something about it so you can impress your friends.

The bartender, who's a good guy and is just looking out for you, will warn you that it's twelve dollars, but that totally won't discourage you.

You just can't wait to astound your crew with your extensive knowledge of the world of beers by talking about the hops in this particular brew.

7. Wine

What is this, the veranda of your summer home in Napa Valley? Do you think you're sitting around a table with fifteen of your closest friends and relatives at a dinner party or other uppity social gathering?

We all love a good glass of wine, but come on, this is not the time or place for that.

You probably don't love to drink--actually, you probably don't even like to drink. You got a glass of the house white because it's safe, something to have in your hand.

You like to savor your alcohol instead of knocking it back and getting as sloshed as humanly possible, which is actually probably a good thing when you think about it. Go you.

8. Any fruity Martini or Margarita

blakelively

You probably just turned 21 and are experimenting with alcohol for the first time.

You're probably also in a restaurant like Chili's at dinner with your parents trying to stick it to them: you're legal now and can order a drink and there's nothing they can do to stop you.

Yes, you'll have the deep blue sea margarita with blue curacao and the candy martini made of cotton candy vodka with crushed lemon drops around the rim of the glass.

Then again, the raspberry-lime swirl frozen margarita... and so does the pumpkin pie martini. Ooh, you'll try them all someday.

9. Jägerbombs

9

You're outta control. You're also probably doing Jägerbombs alone because everyone else in your party hates Jägermeister and doesn't want to do them with you. Or, your one other crazy ass friend is doing them with you.

This is the person that you can usually count on to get totally tanked with you, the person you end up destroying stuff with but also the one who will puke on you and cry on your shoulder at the end of the night.

This is just your thing that you do, ya know?

10. Fireball

10

You wanted to do shots with your friends, but you can't stomach tequila shots anymore, so you only agree to take shots if they're Fireball. Why?

Because everyone knows that while Fireball is spicy and cinnamony, it's also the easiest liquor to take shots of.

11. Whiskey

11

This is not just limited to whiskey-- this also includes Bourbon and Scotch. You order this whiskey without ice and you torture yourself by sipping it slowly alone at the bar.

You want other people to see you and think that you're brooding and mysterious so that they come talk to you and try to figure you out.

As you sip that adequately aged bourbon, you assume the role of the dark, sexy stranger looking for one night of paradise at the bar.

12. Bloody Mary

12

You probably don't even like a Bloody Mary, you just heard from someone that having a Bloody Mary is the best way to cure a hangover, so that's why you ordered one.

You're probably also at brunch and will be for the next three hours.
