Remember that tragic 2nd Avenue gas explosion back in March?
-->Though New Yorkers haven't quite recovered from that East Village catastrophe, New York City is taking steps to repair itself.
A major step is the relocation of Pommes Frites, the beloved Belgian French fry shop whose building was destroyed in the explosion.

"Pommes Frites is humbled by the outpouring of support from our devoted customers. We are buoyed by your comments and offers of assistance after the devastating explosion that rocked our world and brought our shop down," reads a statement on their website.

According to NY Eater, Pommes Frites will be relocating to Greenwich Village at 128 MacDougal Street-- practically right on NYU's campus.
Aside from location, the new space will also offer a host of changes.

First of all, it'll be much bigger than the original, and will actually have room for French fry enthusiasts to sit down and enjoy their food-- a departure from their former cozy East Village space.
They're also applying for a liquor license, and will now be offering beer and wine, although co-owner Omer Shorshi says it's "not going to be a bar."
Whatever it will be, one thing's for sure: come this fall, New York City gets a lil' piece of its heart back.
