The seating space is limited, so we recommend you drag yourself out of bed early for your first coffee fix here.
If you're not in a complete rush, you can sit by the windows with a cup and read the paper, simply people-watch, or just look totally Euro chic.
2. Toby's Estate (various NYC locations)
With Toby's Estate coffeeshops scattered across the city in three prime locations, visiting any of their locations should be on your list of caffeine fix to-do's.

4. Maison Kayser (various NYC locations)
Originally French, this sophisticated spot (without being prohibitively expensive) is friendly and elegant.
Now, let's cut to the chase: the pastries here are out of this world. No doubt about it, you will feel as if you've died (in a good way) and have gone to pastry heaven.
It's a sweet place to go with your significant other or some girl friends, or to simply be alone and splurge on these treats without judgment.
Locations are sprinkled across Manhattan, from the bustling Flatiron District location to the more peaceful Upper East Side.
5. Caffè Reggio (119 Macdougal Street)

Perhaps the most famous coffee house on this list, you may recognize Caffè Reggio from such films as The Godfather II, Next Stop Greewich Village and most recently, Inside Llewyn Davis.
Here's a little history lesson on this landmark cafe: Caffè Reggio opened in 1927 and claims to be one of Greenwich Village's oldest coffeehouses.
Furthermore, they are extremely prideful on first creating the cappuccino; yep, this really is the spot where many New Yorkers' favorite cup of coffee was created and served.
