Everyone loves getting drunk and jammin' out.

The only people who don’t love it are the ones who don’t know the words to any songs.

But for New Yorkers who’ve spent consecutive hours pressing replay on that Maroon 5 song just to get Wiz Khalifa’s rap hook just right, those people know what we're talking about here.

You just gotta love karaoke. Plus, it’s great to have a late-night activity that involves more than just slamming shots, screaming over loud techno music, and giving anyone and everyone "the eyes."

So, now that we've made our case that karaoke is an absolutely excellent time, here are 6 bangin' karaoke bars in NYC to get your drink on.

1. Japas 38 (9 East 38th Street)

This bar is awesome because of its modern ambiance, extremely varied collection of music, and large collection of rooms.

iI’s probably the best spot to have your birthday or bachelorette party (or whatever other excuse you’ve concocted to pound shots and sing songs until you're blue in the face).

Also, if you’re looking for a really obscure song or whatever genre of music you’re into (honestly), this is your go-to spot.

Japas 38 has over 107,000 thousand songs in English, Japanese, and even Korean. They also add 1,000 songs every month.

Bottom line: they have a lot of songs, a lot of space, and a lot of alcohol. Holla!

2. Planet Rose (219 Avenue A)

I’m probably biased because of how much fun I’ve had a couple times at this East Village gem, but there’s something so special about their set up.

Which is, you stand in the midst of a (usually) packed crowd in the middle of the bar, hold a wireless microphone, and belt out your favorite tune.

Stage fright doesn’t really exist here, because there is no stage. And, if you’re really scared to sing, pick a song that a lot of people know.

The crowd will likely sing along, those drunk maniacs.

3. K-One (97 Bowery Street)

If you find yourself in Chinatown with the desire to sing, check out this hipster spot.

They have a phenomenal sound system, affordable drinks, and amazing chicken wings.

Like really, get there around dinnertime so you can munch on wings and watch drunk people make fools out of themselves (oh, the irony).

They also have a lot of private rooms, which is probably a dope idea for a party (or three).

4. Spot Karaoke (34 West 32nd Street)

This is the spot to go to if you’re looking to hit up some excellent happy hour fun with coworkers (which is perfect location-wise, since everyone knows that everyone works in Midtown).

They also have a buy-one-get-one-free deal everyday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and this continues on Sunday through Wednesday from midnight to 3 a.m., which really can’t be beat in terms of drink deals.

The bar is on the 9th floor in Koreatown, has bright funky fluorescents lining their interior, and some pretty great food.

5. Radio Star Karaoke (3 West 35th Street)

Who could hate a karaoke bar with a name as cool as this?

Who could hate a bar with some popping unlimited drinks deal like Radio Star’s, where you pay $20 for the first hour of unlimited drinks, and $15 for every subsequent hour (but just pay $20, slam back the eight or nine drinks you’d pay more for anyway, and then hop onstage and start singing).

This bar doesn’t have the largest music selection compared to its midtown compatriots, but the space is huge. So that definitely makes up for it.
