Hey New York City, did you know May is National Burger Month?

Now that you're in the know, that leaves you with a pretty good excuse to chow down on the city's best burgers for the entire month of May, and we're talking more about just Shake Shack here.

Of course, as true New Yorkers, we do love us some Shake Shack, but there's definitely more to burgers in this city than just that.

We love our burgers thick and juicy, covered in melted cheese and lots of other hot and cold goodies and we bet you do too.

Here are 11 of the juiciest burger joints you just have to sink your teeth into this month during National Burger Month!

1. 5 Napkin Burger (various NYC locations)

Find a 5 Napkin anywhere in the city and sit down with the Original 5 Napkin Burger, because you could get a plain old cheeseburger anywhere else.

This bad boy is made of ten solid ounces of fresh ground chuck and then finished off with gruyere cheese, a mountain of sauteed onions, and rosemary aioli.

Dare I say, you might even need six napkins to fix yourself up after you eat this...

We'll bet you're used to Irish pubs all around the city, but have you ever set foot inside a British restaurant? That's what the Spotted Pig is serving up, and one of the most notable menu items is their chargrilled burger.

A patty made from a blend of brisket, rump, and chuck is topped with quality Roquefort blue cheese, and the bun is grilled lightly to complete that chargrilled perfection.

This stunning French cafe in Greenwich Village could charm the pants off of you Parisienne style, but we think that if you come by and get the Black Label Burger, you'll experience...love at first bite. *wink*
