Lately, Uber will do just about anything to reshape its tarnished image, and after yesterday’s $12,000 fiasco, who can blame them?

So in celebration of Earth Day, and to help reduce New Yorkers' carbon footprint, the transportation supergiant is now offering $5 Manhattan rides in any uberPOOL from today until Sunday.

"Starting today, April 22, through Sunday, April 26, we’ll take you anywhere in Manhattan below 125th Street for only $5-- regardless of whether you’re matched with another rider or not."

It’s definitely a step in the right direction, but can they keep up the good work? Time will only tell.
