Growing Pains: 13 Horrific Struggles of Being Hungover With Your BFF

Getting woken up on a Sunday morning by a raging hangover isn't what any of us want to deal with-- and certainly not alone.

But that's just one out of a million reasons why having a best friend forever is one of life's greatest perks; who else would want to spend the day with you when you're looking and smelling like absolute death?

You see, days spent nursing a hangover are days well spent-- but only when you spend it with your best friend.

Not many family members would have much, if any, sympathy for you. They definitely wouldn't even fill you in on all of last night's debauchery.

On other occasions, waking up next to a guy is just the worst: you can't lounge around all day and bum it out comfortably with them. To have him see your makeup-smeared face and the bird's nest that's formed on the top of your head isn't an ideal situation by any stretch of the imagination, either.

No, because the reality is, this kind of day should be spent with your one and only, your wife for life. So here are the 13 horrific struggles of being hungover with your BFF on a day like this.

(And yes, we feel your pain.)

1. Rise and shine

If you wake up in a room with no curtains, poor you.

If you're blessed enough to awake in a room that doesn't resemble a dark cave, then this process isn't as dramatic. Lucky you!

But that still does't prevent the utter confusion you face for the next 30 seconds, wondering how in hell you ended up getting home, why you're still in last night's clothes, and who else is in the bed with you...

Then you realize it's your BFF.

You don't attempt to even speak to him/her yet because just the thought of any sound whatsoever is mind-numbing.

2. Severe pain

Then comes that thumping headache, accompanied by the realization your mouth is more dry than the Sahara Desert. And then this:  UDIs.

You know: Unidentified Drinking Injuries. It might be a little bruise, or a small cut, a scraped knee or two, or perhaps even a scuffed up elbow.

Bottom line is, it's too much to even lift your head off the pillow right now, but you're slowly gasping for water.

3. The hunt for liquids

You don't care what the liquid is at this point (well, anything but more vodka); you just need anything that will help you feel human again.

There is absolutely no greater feeling in the world than discovering you have a full bottle of orange juice sitting in your fridge and chugging it; of course, you bring the bottle back to your BFF who reacts the same way as you did.

Glorious!

4. The first conversation

The first conversation with your BFF starts off a bit whiny-- usually along the lines of, "I think I'm dying!"

The other follows up with, "What even happened? Why do we do this?!"

Then you both proceed to fill each other in on whatever little you remember from last night.

5. Uncontrollable laughter

That uncontrollable laughter finally hits when you tell your BFF how badly she embarrassed herself last night.

She broke her you-know-what down a flight of stairs, tried to twerk it like Amber Rose, and then texted something cringeworthy to her ex.

You both roll around the bed in utter hysterics for several minutes. That laughter almost makes you more tired, but you can't ignore what your belly really wants: some good ol' fashioned, greasy comfort food.

6. The quest to get dressed

Trying to get dressed in this state is extremely difficult; you don't even care what you look like or that you haven't showered.

Looking chic is not in the cards for either you and your BFF this morning; today is all about sweatpants, hoodies, oversized t-shirts, and the most comfortable sneakers you own.

You grab whatever clothes are near, throw 'em on, and then laugh again uncontrollably at how offensive the both of you look together.

7. Sunlight

If you're on mission to find decent food after a long night out, it comes with its own set of drawbacks.

Sunlight being first and foremost; you know forgetting your sunglasses is a absolute crime.

If you have your BFF with you, you know you can borrow hers for at least half the trip. I mean honestly, what are friends for!?

8. Trying to walk

The struggle to walk is so real. You're like Bambi on ice, walking off balance because this hangover is simply out of control.

You walk into each other, other people, innocent dogs-- all because your coordination is completely off.

All of this only makes you laugh even more together.

9. Mass grease and caffeine intake

Finally, you guys reach a haven for breakfast food, fried food, comfort food, any and all food... your prayers have finally been answered.

Looking at a menu in this state is a little overwhelming, as your eyes are bigger than your belly, but that doesn't stop you both from ordering whatever you feel like.

Which is a lot.

10. Food coma

Eggs Benedict, an enormous stack of chocolate chip pancakes, half of your BFF's mac 'n cheese, and a giant bite out of her cheeseburger.

Plus the chocolate milkshake and large coffee. Afterwards, neither of you can even move.

Now have fun rolling home, will ya?

11. Making it back home

At this point, you're both too full to even talk to each other. The fatigue starts to set in yet again, and nothing seems like a better idea than crawling back into bed or curling up on the couch.

The walk back to your apartment is still a bit wobbly, and it's a huge drag that you're now carrying 10 pounds of extra brunch weight with you.

Seeing your front door has never been so satisfying.

12. Movie

You're doing a great job of being hungover if you find a nostalgic 90s movie that's randomly on cable TV.

Because nothing quite beats a full tummy, watching movies all day long, with your favorite person ever.

13. The best nap ever

It's inevitable: you partied all night, hardly slept, and stuffed yourself silly when you were in desperate need of food.

Now your watching your favorite childhood movie with the only person you'd care to spend a day like this with: your ride or die, your sister from another mister, your best friend forever...

Your BFF.
