Well-Played, Uber! $5 Carpools as Result of the L Train's 5-Week Shutdown

Good news, hipsters!

Just when we thought there was never any good news from the folks over at Uber, there's this: $5 carpools between Williamsburg and Manhattan-- yes, just in time for our beloved L train sucking major wind over the next 5 weeks.

What, you haven't heard that wonderful piece of news just yet?

Well, it's another black eye for the MTA, as they recently announced the L line would close completely between Lorimer Street in Williamsburg and 8th Avenue in Manhattan for five (count 'em, that's 5) weekends.

The shutdown begins Fridays at 11:30 p.m., with trains rolling back into service on Mondays at 5 a.m.

So what's the catch? Well, you have to use Uber's carpool option in order to take advantage of the deal.
