A picture is worth a thousand words, and the use of emojis are definitely no exception.
In a day that's way overdue--this past Wednesday, Apple finally released its highly-anticipated, new beta version of its iOS and OS X system; which includes updated emojis that are more ethnically diverse than ever.
With over 300 new additions, the roster of these cute little icons now include race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and dozens of country flags from across the globe, essentially perfectly reflecting the melting pot that is New York City.

Living in the most culturally diverse city in the world, New Yorkers will now be able to use these emojis to show exactly how they feel and look via text.
Whether flirting with a potential Tinder date, annoyed with your roommate for ditching you for dollar slices, or beyond excited to finally let your hair loose at happy hour, Apple's new emoji features are definitely a step-up when it comes to texting in NYC.
