Ahh, springtime in New York City! It doesn't even feel like you're officially here, yet we’re already getting so very drunk on you. No seriously, we're a little drunk right now.
But seriously, it’s nothing short of comical to see New Yorkers come out of the woodwork when temperatures climb above 40 degrees.
(Side note: How sad is our scale?) And by woodwork, we mean out from under their puffy jackets and hundreds of takeout boxes.
So next time you’re walking around outside with a stupid grin on your face because “It’s SOOOO nice out,” keep an eye out for these 7 telltale signs New Yorkers are becoming intoxicated with winter’s demise.
1. Prematurely swapping out your wardrobe

True story: I saw a guy with shorts on today. Shorts! Look, dude, it’s nice out-- I love it, you love it, we ALL love it. But let’s be real: it’s not that warm out; you’re definitely cold right now.
When we made eye contact, I knew he knew I was right.
2. Leaving your window open… overnight

That cool breeze is lovely, this is going to be the best night’s sleep… damn those kids are loud. Someone make that honking stop. What, is that garbage truck IN my apartment?!
3. You start significantly upping your alcohol intake

This is New York, we express all feelings with booze, and nothing says, "I’m thoroughly delighted with this climate change" more than spontaneous (ideally outdoor!) drinks.
You're probably going to happy hour today, another tomorrow, and already have some day drinking planned for Saturday. Admit it!
4. Guys are already talking about “sun dress season"

“It’s almost here. Sun dress season, bro!” You’ve absolutely heard this-- and even if you haven’t yet-- you will. Before you get offended, don’t.
It’s like Cher so eloquently stated in Clueless, showing skin “reminds boys of being naked, and then they think of sex.”
5. Speaking of sex, you’ll be having a lot more of it

Your pheromones are running high, and you’re swept up in spring fever!
Actually, it’s really due to a combo of #3 & #4.
6. You get the urge to go on a run

Stop us if this isn't true: "The sun makes me feel so energetic! I'm going to start running again. Now that it's not dark when I leave the office, I can even go after work!"
Warning: it will stop feeling amazing about 10 minutes in.
7. You haven’t ordered from Seamless in days

Depending on your average use, which given this past winter was certainly substantial, you may have even received one of those “We Miss You” emails by now.
You’ve been eating out, Seamless! Stop being so needy... you know that love "springs" eternal. (See what we did there?)
