Am I the only one who’s noticed that random girls at are so much nicer in the bathroom than on the dance floor?
I’m a girl, and a feminist, so the last thing in the world I want is for this to be a misogynistic article, but I can’t help but notice the trend.
Random girls are mean and competitive on the dance floor, and friendly, placid, even lovey-dovey to girls they don’t know in the bathroom.
Why? Maybe it’s all the running water, the sounds of toilets flushing and the whirr of hand dryers that bring out this kindness.
Either way, here are 8 situations that play out drastically different in the bathroom than when on the dance floor.
1. When you hit on her guy friend

On the dance floor: “That guy has a girlfriend, stop talking to him!”

In the bathroom: “Oh my god, his girlfriend cheats on him all the time. He’s totally fair game.”
2. When you hit on her

On the dance floor: “I’m straight and you’re creeping me out. Please leave me alone.”

In the bathroom: *Pulls you into a stall and makes out with you*
3. When you ask her how she is

On the dance floor: *Looks you up and down* "I’m ... Okay? Do I know you?"

In the bathroom: “I’m okay, but the guy I like is here and I’m not sure whether he likes me back or if he just came because his other friends are here. But he didn’t even come when they came, he came when I texted him...”
4. When you offer to share your drink

On the dance floor: “No? Why would I drink your drink? Did you roofie this?”

In the bathroom: “Sure! Thanks!” *Chug*
5. After you apologize for bumping into and spilling your drink on her

On the dance floor: *Gives you horrified, disgusted look. Says nothing*

In the bathroom: “Oh, don’t worry sweetie! I got this dress for $10 at H&M, so it doesn’t really matter.” *Accepts paper towels in your outstretched hand*
6. When she witnesses a girl puking

On the dance floor: “Oh my god! That’s disgusting. Let’s get the f**k out of here.”

In the bathroom: “Hey babe are you okay?” *Pulls hair behind head* “Where are your friends? Let me call them. You need to go home.”
(Disclaimer: I am aware that it is much more socially acceptable to puke in the bathroom than on the dance floor.)
7. When she first sees you

On the dance floor: *Looks you up and down, looks away without smiling*

In the bathroom: “Great shirt. Where’d you get it? Have you been here before? I didn’t expect it to be so crowded here!”
8. When you ask if her if she knows where to acquire drugs

On the dance floor: *Gives you the number of her drug dealer*

In the bathroom: *Offers you some party favors*
