1. Selma w/ Live Score by Jason Moran and Wordless Music Orchestra
Tomorrow evening at Prospect Park Bandshell, there's a FREE Orchestral show by the jazz luminary himself, Jason Moran.

You can sign up here for updates on the event, as well as information on upcoming events this weekend at the park. If you're in the mood for a beautiful orchestra performance and have some friends who might as well, then you should absolutely come by tomorrow night!
2. Time Out New York's Battle of the Burger
What do you get when food and competitions mix? This delicious event, that's what. Come out to Time Out New York's burger-making competition tomorrow from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Pier 26 on Moore Street for one of the tastiest Thursdays of the summer.
You can get your tickets here, and figure out if you want GA for a bit over $50 or the Burger Squad ticket option for a little over $45. There are 2 sessions, the first being from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the second following from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. OH, and we can't forget the complimentary Budweiser you get with your ticket!
Friday, August 11th
3. MetFridays
This jazz event on Friday is free with museum admission and features live music from award-winning trumpeter, Alex Nguyen and his quartet.
It runs for just an hour long, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., so make sure you come by if you want to check out some radiant music!
4. Bleachers
This FREE concert in Central Park Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. will surely be the bright and early wake up call to kick off your weekend!
It will be live during Good Morning America's airing, and you should definitely get there early if you want to get a good spot to hear the energetic music. It's suggested to arrive at Rumsey Playfield by the 72nd Street entrance on fifth ave when the park opens to the public.
5. ThinkOlio Presents: Modern Art, the Work-Life Balance, and the G
Good thing for you this double-feature event makes it feel like a two-for-one special! This evening discussion will feature work from artists like Peggy Bacon and Isabel Whitney, and will discuss current controversial topics.
It's a must-go if you have an hour to listen to conversation about necessary information. Come to Strand Books on Broadway & 12th Street from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night!
Come to Sunshine Cinema on Houston Street Friday night for a (subtitled) showing of Spirited Away, Hayao Miyazaki's Academy Award-winning animated film about a brave little girl named Chihiro.
The viewing starts at 11:55 p.m., and runs for a little over 2 hours, so be prepared for a long night. If you've never seen this movie or want to see it again with friends who might not have, it's definitely worth it to come downtown Friday night and check it out.
Saturday, August 12th
7. Citi Summer Streets 2017: Week 2
Week 2 is upon us, and we are so thrilled! We told you about this event a bazillion and a half times, but of course we're still gonna keep you updated with the current events as the weeks pass.
This Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at various stops throughout the city, you can experience some wicked cool summer fun, thanks to our Citi friends. We hope you enjoy!
We gave you guys the scoop about this saber battle event that happened last weekend, but it's coming up again this weekend so here's your gentle reminder to make this one if you couldn't go before!
It's happening at Washington Square Park again from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., so gather all your friends who missed last week, and have a bright a$$ time.
Sunday, August 13th
Oooh, this event may sound like a summer camp you went to as a kid, but it is most definitely NOT for kids. Seriously, do not bring kids it would suck and probably be illegal. This bourbon camp event will teach you how whiskey is made, taught by the co-owner of the Kings County Distillery, Colin Spoelman.
After a picnic lunch, you'll get a whiskey tasting and personal flight-making course. At the end of the day, you will also learn how to make your own specific cocktail by the distillery's master mixologist! Get more info here on this interesting event!
Coming to Hester Street this Sunday from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m. is the Brasil Summerfest! To be fair, it's been happening since last week and Sunday is the last day for the event, but still. It's happening and you juuuuuuust might want to go.

It's been a pretty eventful week, and this Sunday concludes the week-long party with the Hester Street Fair and block party! So obviously you know it's going to be a good time when fairs are involved. See you there!
Three cheers for trivia night!! This Sunday you can put your Rick and Morty knowledge to the test with this trivia event at Videology Bar and Cinema from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The bar recommends that you get there early, because it's going to be a packed event with loads of people trying to show off how much they know about the show. So if you're one of those know-it-alls, then get your booty over to Videology Bar and Cinema THIS SUNDAY NIGHT!!!
