Weekend has arrived once again, and NYC is here to offer you some cool events to join. 

Governors Ball is back for three full days of great music, food, drinks and festival shenanigans. 

But for those of you who couldn't score tickets, don't worry. I promise your weekend is not completely ruined, unless you stay salty the entire time. 

Get out and enjoy the next three days of fun! Head to some of these awesome events to create a packed and exciting weekend in NYC. 

There's everything from free events, festivals and even a free boozy brunch party! Pssh, who needs Governors Ball anyway? 


Friday, June 2nd

Okay, we can't lie. We are PSYCHED for Gov Ball this weekend! We hope that you've snagged your tickets by now though, but go see what's left!

The Gov Ball lineup is absolutely insane this year. Even more impressive might be the 2017 lineup of food and drink vendors. And we can't forget the afterparty of all afterparties, After Dark. The party doesn't stop Sunday evening.


2. Split Screens Festival

For those who are TV critic at heart, here's the perfect place and people to discuss your favorite TV shows. 

Join show creators, cast members and fellow fans in various discussion panels and highly-anticipated episode premiere screenings from TV and the web's best shows. Meet them at IFC Center from June 2-8 to celebrate the art of television. Get tickets and the full event lineup here


3. MAGNUM New York Returns to NYC

Indulge in the most decadent ice cream at this sweet interactive experience.

Starting Friday, you can create your own ice cream bar at the "dipping bar" with melted dark, milk and white chocolate. Plus, you can choose three luxurious toppings, such as rose petals, gold crystal and crispy fig, to top off your yummy treat.

4. Art Battle New York City

You've seen dance and rap battles tons of times. But if you're not a rapper, this annual international art battle might be perfect for you. 

Art Battle International returns to NYC on June 2 at 6 pm at (le) poisson rouge, Bleeker Street. Watch or participate as local painters compete to claim the title as the world's best live painter during this competition. Snag your tickets here or apply to compete here

5. BookCon (June 3rd & 4th)


This one's for our fellow literary nerds!

BookCon is NYC's epic celebration of new books, authors, celebrities, and pop culture. Basically, it's gonna be awesome. How awesome? Check out a couple dope things we've got on our radar.

6. Pasta Festival

Finally, a festival for all of us pasta lovers! This day is probably the best day to cheat on your low-carb diet.

At Eataly NYC Flatiron on 5th Ave., you can taste–but really devour–five different types of pasta at five different heavenly stations in the marketplace. Plus they're bringing out the roaming beverage cart to enjoy your pasta with some vino and Negroni. Head over from 1-5 pm to Guest Relations to pick up your tickets. 


7. Rose Garden Weekend

There's no better way to take in the beauty of nature than to spend an afternoon at New York Botanical Gardens. This weekend, NYBG is hosting Rose Garden Weekend.

Celebrate the peak of color and beauty of this summer in the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden with two days of live music, plant care demonstrations, tours with expert rosarians, and refreshments.

8. NYC International Food Bazaar

How does spending your entire Sunday indulging in artisanal and international foods sound?

NYC International Food Bazaar, organized by Grand Bazaar NYC, will be a festival unlike any other. Entrance is free, but you are encouraged to donate, as 100% of the proceeds go to four NYC public schools. Get your belly ready for over 25 unique vendors!

10. Celebrate Israel Parade 2017

Join our Jewish neighbors celebrate their homeland at this super fun parade. Meet the 4,000+ marchers at 5th Avenue to see floats, live acts, and marching bands celebrate the culture and heritage of Israel. 

The parade will symbolize this year's theme, Celebrate Israel All Together, as they walk from 57th to 74th Street at 11 am until 4 pm. If you don't want the fun to end, you can join everyone at the Israel Day Concert in Central Park at 72nd Street after the parade, going from 2:30 until 7:30 p.m.
