This past weekend, I traded my usual weekend routine for something a little more glamorous—a sun-soaked escape high above Midtown Manhattan at Elsie Rooftop. Perched 25 stories up on Broadway, just steps from Bryant Park, Elsie offers not only sweeping views of the New York City skyline but also a menu that makes lingering over brunch a very easy choice.
I went with my bestie, and together we indulged in a duo of decadent dishes that turned our leisurely Sunday into a true treat: the Lemon Meringue Pancakes and the "Egg in a Hole" Croque Madame Sandwich. The pancakes were as beautiful as they were indulgent—fluffy stacks crowned with golden meringue that had just the right balance of citrusy tang and sweetness. The croque madame, with its rich layers of cheese, and perfectly crisp green salad on the side, was equally satisfying, striking that balance between hearty comfort and sophisticated flavor.
