Aliens of Extraordinary Ability: A Fundraiser (325 Franklin Ave, Brooklyn @ 8 PM)
Orli Matlow and Felipe Torres Medina are two un-American comedians, from Canada and Colombia, respectively. They were granted the privilege to live and work in the United States thanks to the O-1 visa, a visa granted to “aliens of extraordinary ability.”
The show will highlight comedians and artists from abroad as we discuss our home countries and the process of moving to the United States. Proceeds will go to RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services.)
Art After Dark: March (1071 5th Ave, Manhattan @ 9 PM)
Join the Guggenheim for an after-hours private viewing of current exhibitions, including "Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future" and "Implicit Tensions: Mapplethorpe Now," featuring a cash bar serving wine and beer until 11:45 pm and a live DJ performance.
Saturday, March 16
March Against Racism and Fascism (Foley Square, Manhattan @ 12 PM)
New York City will be marching against racism and the far-right on Saturday, March 16, 2019, as one of the many cities around the world marking the UN Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The March Against Racism and Fascism will start with a rally at noon at Foley Plaza, with a variety of speakers. Next, we will do a march around the adjacent African Burial Ground National Monument and the Javitz Federal Building, which houses local DHS offices. Last, we will march to Washington Square Park, where we will end the rally together.
Kiss Me, I'm Irish: NYC St. Patrick's Day Bar Crawl (2 Days) (Manhattan @ 4 PM)
This two-day bar crawl hosted by Barcrawlerz is a New York City Bar Crawl like no other. Kiss Me, I'm Irish features the best bang for your buck from some of the best bars in the city.
