After months of anticipation—and plenty of foodie speculation Time Out Market Union Square officially opened its doors today at 124 East 14th Street inside Zero Irving. Crowds gathered early, eager to be the first to sample dishes from some of New York City’s most celebrated chefs and rising culinary stars.

Leading the lineup is Michael Ayoub’s Fornino, making its long-awaited Manhattan debut. Already a Brooklyn favorite, Ayoub is credited with igniting New York’s artisanal pizza movement, and his signature blistered-crust pies did not disappoint on opening day. Guests raved about the bold flavors and seasonal specials, many of which are crafted with ingredients sourced from the nearby Union Square Greenmarket.

The 10,000-square-foot market features seven kitchens, a full bar, and communal seating for 240 guests, including an outdoor terrace. Alongside Fornino, the star-studded roster includes James Beard Award–winner Kwame Onwuachi with Patty Palace, serving his signature Jamaican patties tucked into coco bread; Unapologetic Foods’ Kebabwala, bringing the fiery flavors of India’s night markets; and Taqueria El Chato, known for its Michelin-recognized tacos.

Other highlights include Kam Rai Thai, with bold regional Thai dishes from chef Dhanapol “Oak” Marprasert; Lori Jayne Burger, offering indulgent comfort food classics; and Paninoteca by Anthony, where hand-crafted Italian sandwiches shine.

Guests can also enjoy a curated bar program with cocktails, wine, and craft beers, plus a Coffee & Pastry counter featuring favorites from Coffee Project NY, Magnolia Bakery, Épicerie Boulud, Sunday Morning cinnamon rolls, Shortbread Society, and more.

Time Out Market Union Square is the brand’s second New York location, joining the flagship in Dumbo, and its twelfth globally. With a mix of award-winning names and local favorites, the new market promises to be both a culinary hub and a community gathering space—celebrating the very best of New York City under one roof.
