Egads! Look out! There’s a blue monster at the end of this article!

Several blue monsters, actually. And a very tan one with scary hair.

One commuter has taken to drawing during his time on the subway, and the results are pretty awesome.

Gothamist reported that Ben Rubin’s been using his great powers of doodling with great responsibility.

Rubin’s style reminds us of the late great Maurice Sendak (author of Where the Wild Things Are), as well as the scream team behind Monsters, Inc.

And maybe it’s just the creep factor, but there’s also a little R. Crumb at work here.
