Look's like the old guys still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
New York City needs pizza the same way pizza needs New York City. It is a quintessential NYC meal that has seen some pretty crazy changes as of late. There's the massive two-foot slice, a vegan pizza and even a Detroit-style pizza.
But, if there is one thing that is for sure it is that you can't beat a classic. And if there is one classic among classics, it's the iconic Denino's Pizzeria from Staten Island who you can finally try without using the ferry.
Denino's Pizzeria is opening up its new location in the West Village today, and customers can expect the same amazing creations Denino's has been serving up since 1937.
This is their second NYC location, but third location country-wide. The classic joint opened up their second location in New Jersey around 2010.
If you've never tried Denino's, then this is the time. It is one of the most traditional NYC slices around and it's one of, if not best, pizzerias on Staten Island.
Now you don't have to worry about Staten Island leaving the city to get Denino's famed Garbage Pie which is an overload of delicious meatballs, garlic bread and even fried calamari. Plus, you've gotta try the M.O.R. pie which has mushroom, onions, and this ricotta that is killer.
You can find the new Denino's at 93 MacDougal Street in the West Village which is also super close to the triumph return that is Pommes Frites.

This city sees a lot of restaurants come and go but only few can claim to be legends and even fewer can boast that they are true legends of pizza in a city that is known for pizza.
