As Halloween’s skulls and jack o'lanterns fade into the distance and the siren’s call of turkey and pumpkin pie takes its place, dedicated coffee lovers have their own way of marking the changing season: the dependable appearance of holiday cups at their local Starbucks.

Last year’s cups featured designs by customers and 2015’s plain red cups ended up frothing with as much controversy as crema.

But this year they’ve got a new strategy to get us in the spirit and keep customers happy: provide a mostly white cup and let patrons fill in the design with the colors of their choice.

These cheery, custom containers will be filled with seasonal beverages from their holiday menu including the Chestnut Praline Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte, Holiday Spice Flat White and Teavana Joy Brewed Tea.

We for one would like to applaud the brand for encouraging creativity, sharing, and kindness, even in this small way.

To help amp up your appetite for some sugary, caffeinated heaven, here are some of our fave takes on the customizable cups:

While we can enjoy a laugh at the treats’ “basic” reputation as much as anyone else, we also can’t deny that we think these winter offerings are actually tasty AF.

And if you needed another excuse to indulge, starting today and continuing until November 13, the stores will be featuring a buy one get one free deal on these warm and toasty creations from 2-5 pm.

This special, in which customers are encouraged to share the joy of coffee with their loved ones, is in line with one last holiday tweak—the red “Give Good” cup sleeve offered up alongside the seasonal drinks and cups.

After all, you’ve gotta find some way to stay fueled on that Xmas shopping grind!
