Amali (115 E 60th St) is honoring Mother’s Day with a $65 per person brunch! The optional three-course prix fixe menu features a tasty appetizer, entree and dessert. Bar Marseille (190 Beach, Rockaway Beach) will host a Mother’s Day to remember with a mouth watering Prix Fixe menu starting at $45 per person. This picturesque, seaside restaurant will fulfill all of Mom’s wishes with a bottomless mimosa option and a view that can’t be beat. Chic Aquavit (65 East 55th St) brings the best of Chef Emma Bengtsson for a Nordic take on Mother’s Day lunch. The tasting menu starts with Aquavit classics – Herring, Gravlax, Shrimp Skagen, Hot Smoked Salmon, Nordic Breads – before reaching peak bloom with springtime produce on full display across three stunning courses. Among the offerings is Black Bass with pickled ramps and hollandaise, Duck Breast with english peas, Strawberry Mille Feuille with elderflower cream, and light Lemongrass Vacherin rhubarb and lemon verbena cream. Celebrate Mother’s Day at Carmine’s (200 West 44th Street)! Dig into family-style specials like Burrata Salad stuffed with stracciatella cheese, mesclun mixed greens, roasted red peppers, roasted grilled eggplant, red onions & crostini drizzled with a balsamic reduction for $36; a Seafood Stuffed 22 Oz. Atlantic Salmon with shrimp, scallop, crab & spinach, finished with oreganata breadcrumbs and a garlic butter sauce for $72; and Gnocchi Pesto with Chicken topped with a roasted garlic & pine nut pesto and grilled chicken tenders for $50. All-day Euro-style Cafe, French Roast (2340 Broadway), will provide a special, French-inspired offering for Mother’s Day. The UWS staple will serve classics like Soup Du Jour alongside springtime brunch favorites – Watermelon Salad, Burrata with Cantaloupe, Crab Cake Benedict and Duck Confit Hash. For one day only, Sushi of Gari’s (370 Columbus Avenue) Upper West Side location will open its doors at noon to offer guests the chance to enjoy their exceptional sushi throughout the day for Mother’s Day! Highlights include Sushi of Gari’s signature line-up sushi such as Salmon Yaki Tomato with fresh salmon topped with seared tomato and onion sauce; Tai Salad with Red Snapper and Baby Greens and Crispy Lotus Root; and Hirame Truffle with a blow-torched fluke, topped with poached quail egg, black truffle and white truffle oil. To celebrate Mother’s Day, Chef Tony Inn’s contemporary Japanese restaurant Taru (30 West 53 Street)is offering a special $150 prix fixe dinner from May 10 to May 14. Highlights of the four-course menu include a cold appetizer of Fava Beans, with Garlic Scapes, and Yogurt and a hot appetizer of Soy Chawanmushi with Smoked Ikura. In addition to an 18-piece chef’s choice sashimi, entrée choices include Koji Soy Grilled Sakura-masu (cherry salmon) with Ramps and Whole Poussin with Glazed Carrots and Natto Hummus. For dessert there’s Fresh Berry Parfait from Chef Natsume Aoi, who has also put together a Japanese French Toast Kit–house-made milk bread, miso caramel, pecan sugar, and matcha white chocolate glaze–for each table to take home. Michelin-Starred Chef Shaun Hergatt is opening his SoHo hotspot, Vestry (246 Spring St)on a Sunday to make Mother’s Day extra special! Serving a three course prix-fixe menu for $120, Vestry is offering some of the regular menu’s favorites plus seasonal specials to celebrate the occasion. For the first course, you get options such as Beef Tartare and brioche toast, Shigoku Oysters, Smoked Salmon Carpaccio and Nidori Hen Egg with Kaluga Caviar. Second course offerings include Snake River Farm Wagyu, Carnaroli Rice Risotto, Carolina White Prawns and Local Black Bream. And of course, it is not a celebration without a sweet something! Choose from Coconut Tapioca, Homemade Cheesecake, Satsuma Orange or Guanaja Chocolate for the happiest ending!
