Yesterday, the world lost once of the most legendary music icons, Prince.
The news came as a shock to most of us. After all, he was only 57 years old, and maybe it's just us, but we kind of assumed he would live forever.
But despite our initial disbelief, the world quickly responded with an outpouring of love in celebration of Prince's incredible legacy.
The entertainment community, obviously, felt this loss on an extraordinarily deep level, and paid tribute accordingly.
As soon as the news broke, MTV immediately but a halt on all programming and began airing only Prince music videos.
Actor/director Spike Lee hosted a party outside his offices in Fort Greene, in which guests wore purple and sung and danced along to their favorite Prince songs.
An array of landmarks and buildings across New York City and beyond were also adorned with tributes to Prince. The Empire State Building, Niagara Falls, The High Roller in Las Vegas, and The Superdome were all lit up in purple lights in his honor.
New Yorkers also paid tribute at the Prince Street N/R subway station.
Needless to say, the world is truly feeling the lost of this influential artist. But, it's clear that Prince will not be forgotten anytime soon.
