Brooklyn Art Haus Hosts Brooklyn Pride Comedy Festival to Close Out Pride Month with Laughter
Brooklyn Art Haus (24 Marcy Ave) in Williamsburg is hosting the Brooklyn Pride Comedy Festival from June 24th–29th, bringing six nights of unapologetically queer comedy to close out Pride Month with a punchline. The week-long celebration highlights LGBTQ+ comedians, writers, and performers across stand-up, drag, sketch, and solo shows, placing queer joy at center stage. As Co-Executive Director Isaac Bush explains, “Brooklyn Art Haus is PROUD to offer dedicated space to fostering new and established queer voices through comedy, circus, film, theater, visual art and more. We invite you to make BAH your home for Pride not just this month, but all year long.” The festival opens Tuesday, June 24th with “Dolls & Guys: The Improvised Musical” and “Angus Is Gay,” both high-energy, music-filled comedy experiences. On June 25th, Ann Van Epps headlines “The Banana Show” with unfiltered songs and stories, followed by “Gay Haus Comedy,” a standout lineup of queer comics sharing sharp and hilarious takes on love, identity, and everything in between. June 26th brings “When Hailey Met Sally,” a chaotic queer rom-com retelling, and a heartfelt solo act. On June 27th, Alexa Springman’s musical comedy debut “5’4” is paired with acclaimed comic Solomon Georgio, known for his biting and brilliant perspective. June 29th wraps up with a triple bill beginning with a satirical sketch show; followed by “Guilty Please: A Cumming Out Story,” Amanda Melhuish’s riotous solo journey of self-love; and “The Illegal Comedy Show,” a boundary-breaking stand-up showcase uplifting bold voices from women, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and PoC communities. Tickets and showtimes are available at bkarthaus.com/shows-events.
