June has officially been deemed "New York Music Month" by the big guy (Mayor de Blasio).
And we definitely agree.
New Yorkers will be the first to tell you that we get the best free sh*t.
Free movie showings, free rent (if you're lucky!), and best of all, free music!
From SummerStage to BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! to Northside Festival, to Live at the Archway, there's no reason to spend your hard-earned bread on some tunes.
De Blasio's team is also working with local organizations to pay tribute to music history in NYC by hosting walking tours through different "music neighborhoods". Both locals and tourists will embark on these tours to learn the ins and outs of the histories of different genres like hip hop, rock, and jazz.
New Yorkers and tourists can also gain free access to the Museum of the City of New York on Sunday, June 18th and the Rubin Museum on Saturday, June 24th.

And if you're a musician yourself, you may be in luck.
A few spots across the city are going to be providing over 2,000 hours of rehearsal time to musicians for free. But make sure you get on that since those slots are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Overwhelmed? We gotchu with a full schedule of events here.
