In case you've been living under a rock for the past five to ten years, doughnuts are life.
And to our relief, car washes are still a viable form of therapy to escape all those awful people trolling in our social media channels and crowded Trader Joe's lines.
So, it might bring you some joy to know that New York's most deliciously glazed treats have been hiding in plain sight all this time, in a car wash. Well, technically not in the car wash. That would be a bit messy. But you get the idea.
Underwest Donuts occupies a large car wash facility and waiting area on the West Side Highway, and is serving up some of this year's most ambitious flavors including Maple Waffle, Blueberry Lemon, and Car Wash (white frosting with pink, green, and baby blue stripes).
You can (and should) spend hours looking through Underwest's Instagram page, featuring seasonal and fun holiday themes including this year's Pride Festival.

They also partner with a variety of vendors in the city, including ice cream shops and coffee, making them not only the most useful of breakfast pastries but also unstoppable.
The large and unassuming space looks out into the car wash, making this the perfect spot to indulge your 100% guilty doughnut taste buds as you watch your car get squeaky clean. Shoot, it doesn't even have to be your car. But someone's car is getting some love, and that's a reason to celebrate.
With a colorful doughnut, of course.
