As it appears, New York City has a slashing problem.
Since January, there have been at least eight slashings in NYC.
Six of them were incidents that took place on the subway. All of those incidents are unrelated.
Following the rash of slashings, New Yorkers are urged to remain alert while riding the subway.
Vigilante group Guardian Angels have made a return and can be spotted patrolling the subway lines — reminiscent of the late 1970s and 1980s.
The map below shows the different subway incidents that have occurred so far this year.
