Ah, a day at the beach. Surf, sand, and the smell of... fried chicken?

If you've ever wanted to spend your summer days smelling like fried food, your day has come.

KFC's latest gimmick is a 30 SPF sunscreen, designed to make the wearer smell like a 12-piece bucket of their famous fried chicken.

The KFC 'Extra Crispy' Sunscreen was made officially available on the KFC website yesterday morning.

Unfortunately, it looks like this product is only available online, so you won't be able to grab a quick bottle from your local KFC drive-thru.

The item was more popular than anyone would've expected, with it practically selling out on the day of its grand release.

It looks like people were super excited about smelling like chicken at the beach.

But hey, it was free, so why not?

Our question for KFC, other than "Why?" is, why wait all the way until the end of the summer to release a sunscreen?

Then again, they're not having any trouble selling this strange product, so maybe we're the ones in the wrong for questioning them.

The fried chicken sunscreen is the latest addition to KFC's line of gimmicky products.

Their last venture was an edible "Finger Lickin' Good" nail polish, which sounds way better than just smelling like chicken.

Sadly, the sunscreen only goes as far as smell and is not actually edible.
