If you thought mass family group texts were annoying, you're definitely not going to like this.

On January 20th, 2017 President-elect turned first-fascist-American-President Donald Trump will be allowed to send mass texts to the entire nation.

Great.

Although chances are no one has received a text from Mr. Trump yet, the messages will seem familiar.

They are the same format as the ones sent out when there is a nasty snowstorm on the horizon, an Amber Alert, or a police announcement regarding a criminal.

According to NY Mag, these messages are known as Wireless Emergency Alerts, put in place in 2006 by Congress.

These messages are sent to every cell phone getting a signal from certain geographically relevant cell towers, but in a national emergency all numbers would receive them.

We don't believe that these messages will come as frequently as Trump's tweets... well, at least we hope not.

These messages first have to be screened through FEMA's Integrated Public Alert & Warning System, which means no matter what Trump's message might be, there's still another layer to go through before he can hit send.

Trump will have to take courses in the appropriateness of when to issue messages.  Comforting.
