Lace Up & Roll Out: There's an Insane Roller Skate Party Going Down in Prospect Park

It's that time, right about that time to roll on out into the Summertime in New York City!

It's that magical time of the year when Morgenstern's Finest tastes just a bit more amazing, the views atop NYC's abundance of rooftop bars are just a little more breathtaking, and all of NYC's parks do something a little bit more incredible each and every year.

We're all quite familiar with Central Park's SummerStage concert series, the dance parties going down in Bryant Park, and the food comas you can casually slip into with Smorgasburg in Prospect Park every weekend.

But there are only so many times that you can do these things before they lose their luster. Sure, it's never really the same show at SummerStage, and there's always more food than you'll ever need at Smorgasburg, but how do you keep decidedly stale fixtures fresh?

We don't have an answer for that. We do, however, know where the real magic is going down this summer, and that's at Flavorpill and Ghostly International's Magic Hour.

Magic Hour is an incredible bi-monthly roller skating party at The Lefrak Center at Lakeside Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

Yes, ROLLER SKATING PARTY. Grab your skates, kiddies.

It's an all-ages skate party set with the techno and dance tunes of incredible DJ wizards from Ghostly International like Talib Kweli, Twin Shadow, Xeno & Oaklander, and Gang Gang Dance.

If that's not rad enough (which, you know, it is), there's also a rinkside bar, pedal boat and bike rentals, and treats from the Bluestone Cafe and Gelato Parlor.

This Sunday (Father's Day donchaknow?!), skate the afternoon away with emcees Xeno & Oaklander, with a little help from Heathered Pearls, grab a drink, nosh on some holy-hell-that's-delicious gelato from Gelato Parlor, and have the time of your life.

Tickets are only $14 and include a skate rental. Also, if you need a ride (rinkside bar for the win!), they've teamed up with Lyft to get you where you need to go. Just use the promo code MAGICHOUR15 to get 15% off your ride.

So get into it this weekend. You can always get dad a really awful mug, another box set of The Sopranos, or some kitschy grill set any Father's Day.

Make this Father's Day count and get him something that'll remind him of when he was a kid, and nothing says, "You're an old man," like watching your dad hop on that struggle bus of lacing up roller skates.

But Magic Hour isn't just going down on Father's Day. You can lace up and roll out for this insane roller skate party going down in Prospect Park twice a month all summer long!

Consider your weekend plans made. You're welcome.
