BookCon is so close we can almost taste it and We. Are. Psyched.
In case you haven't been around for the past four years, BookCon is an epic celebration of new books, authors, celebrities, and pop culture.
In case you haven't been around for the past four years, BookCon is an epic celebration of new books, authors, celebrities, and pop culture.
This year, BookCon's going down June 3rd & 4th, at the Javits Center (655 West 34th Street). If you haven't already snagged your tickets, you can do that right here. Pro-tip: It's cheaper to buy them online than onsite, so get on that.
The floor's open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 5 p.m. on Sunday. It might seem like a lot of time to see everything, but with all the amazing booths, panels, guests, and events, it's definitely worth it to plan your trip ahead.
Their full schedule is online, and they also have their own app to help you plan your weekend. Lucky for you, we're also gonna run you through everything you can't miss).
A couple amazing authors who are gonna be there this year are Dan Brown, Margaret Atwood (Handmaid's Tale on Hulu is duckin' lit!), YA Author Rainbow Rowell, and Veronica Roth.
If you don't think that you'd be interested in the celebrities who'd turn up to a book convention, uh, you're wrong, because BILL NYE THE EFFING SCIENCE GUY is coming through, along with Kevin Hart, Mayim Bialik, Jessica Jones (we mean Krysten Ritter), and Chad Michael Murray.
Seriously. How excited is your 14-year-old self that Chad Michael Murray's gonna be there?!
The best part of any convention, TBH, is always the panels though. Because it's one thing to see one of your fave writers or celebs in person, but it's a totally different, exhilarating experience to hear them discussing their craft and creative endeavors.
*Geeking out so hardcore, but it's fine. We're okay*
Everyone we just mentioned above are gonna be a part of at least one cool event, such as Chad Michael Murray - An American Drifter, where CMM will discuss the romance novel he wrote with bestselling author Heather Graham. The pair will be interviewed live on stage.
We're maybe a little too excited about Chad Michael Murray. Maybe.
When you look at the full schedule of sh*t going down, like we said, it can feel a bit crazy, especially if you're a first time BookCon attendee.
If you don't know where to start, you can also hit up the First Time Fan Meetup to get some tips for navigating the con, insider info, and meet fellow n00bs.
We're kidding, but really, making con friends is the best. And BookCon makes that super easy– just look at their list of other meetups, which range from Bookstagram 'Grammers, to Speed Dating with fellow lit lovers, to of course, what would a Book Convention be without all the Harry Potter fans hooking up.
How hype are you to celebrate everything literary rn? BC we are literally so hype just talking about it. So seriously, make sure you've got your passes, and meet us there!
You can probably find us lurking a couple feet behind Chad Michael Murray.
