Ever been to Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Times Square? Tourists and New Yorkers alike revel in the fun, wacky, and unbelievable attractions at this “museum” of whimsy.

Between Guinness world record holders and crazy artifacts, it’s safe to say it was the OG pop-up that managed to outlast them all!

But just because it’s been around for awhile, that doesn’t mean it can’t have some tricks still up its sleeves.

Its newest venture, Ripley’s Relic, begins June 28th and plans to challenge escape rooms around the city. No one said they don’t like a little friendly competition!

The interactive adventure turns average joes into explorers who work together to “unlock a series of puzzles and decipher a strange assortment of scientific symbols that were recently discovered in Times Square.”

The “escape room” comes with its own guide - new high tech components and movie-like sets, in a new part of the well-known location that is only reachable by secret elevator. You have to solve a puzzle to even enter the cavern, and once you do, the rest of your adventure awaits.

Ripley’s is the first NYC attraction to jump on the ever-growing escape room bandwagon with a separate attraction.

Unlike escape rooms though, this is a 15 minute, $15/person experience for up to 10 people, so it’s both cheaper and shorter than your average mission escape. And if you’ve seen enough of Ripley’s for the moment, you can do the experience on its own too—no museum purchase necessary.
