Earth Day is almost upon us, New Yorkers.
Give that inner treehugger some time in the sunlight and celebrate Mother Nature.
Next Friday, April 22nd is Earth Day, and there are plenty of events going down this month to celebrate and protect our environment, even though we live in a concrete jungle.
Plus, this upcoming week is forecasted to be perfect spring weather with lots of sunshine, so why not get outside and breathe in some beautiful fresh spring air.
Here are some of the events going down for Earth Day in NYC:
April 15th - April 17th
Green Festival Expo (Javits Center)
This weekend the largest and longest running sustainable green festival is happening right here in NYC at the Javits Center.
Whether you're looking for some guides as to eat healthier, how to become more sustainable in your every day life, or to check out the coolest new environmentally friendly products on the market, grab your tickets and head on out to the Green Festival Expo this weekend.
April 16th - 17th & April 30th - May 1st
Tulip Festival (West 89th Street)
It's time to celebrate the most underrated flower this Earth Day. Head to the West Side Community Garden this weekend or two weeks later to check out the 13,000 unique tulips, spring flowers, and blooming trees.
This festival is completely free, but it's one of the most beautiful collection of tulips we've ever seen. Go out and smell the tulips!
Car Free Day on Broadway
This April 22, Earth Day, cars will be prohibited on Broadway from the Flatiron Building to Union Square in NYC's first Car Free Day.
