Rain, Rain Go Away: 6 Must-Do Things to Have an Amazing First Weekend in June

Welcome to the weekend, New Yorkers!

It's officially Gov Ball weekend, which means absolutely nothing to those of us who are either too unlucky, too poor, or too uninterested to have a ticket.

For those of you who do have a ticket, it means a full three days of insanely incredible performances, excellent food, and lots of Insta-likes from jelly followers.

For the rest of us? Well there's still a ton going down in the Big Apple.

Here's what's happening in New York City this weekend.

All Weekend

Governor's Ball (Randall's Island Park)

What's Governor's Ball? Uh, only one of the most anticipated music festivals on the East Coast. It's like Coachella, but in miniature, and with a heck of a lot less cultural appropriation, great food, hippies, and flower crowns (this isn't Cali...).

Lucky enough to snag a ticket? Check out these underrated acts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Just remember to pack sunscreen on Saturday and a poncho on Friday and Sunday, and be sure to Snapchat us at spoilednyc.

Friday, June 3rd

The Deco Ball- Paris, New York, Havana (4 East 60th Street)

Wanna party in high fashion? Head to the Deco Ball on Friday, June 3rd at 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Going down at the Harmonie Club, watching tango dancers kicking up to the beats of salsa, mambo, cumbia, and boogaloo.

Old Havana not your style? Head to Jazz Age New York, and experience a Gatsby-esque soiree. How about Paris? We're jiving to gypsy jazz and noshing on cheeses, Coq au Vin, and Ratatouille. Whatever you're doing this weekend, you're not going to want to miss this ball. Get your tickets here.

Saturday, June 4th

Bushwick Collective Block Party (St Nicholas Avenue - Brooklyn)

Didn't score a ticket to catch Kanye in the flesh? NBD, you'll probably have more fun anyway at the Bushwick Collective Block Party on Saturday, June 4th to celebrate their 5th year anniversary. You'll get performances by JADAKISS, Lil Waah, and more.

Apart from music, the block party will consist of 50 graffiti and street artists painting live on buildings, food trucks, body painting, giveaways, and a vendor market section. Check it out from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

NYC Multicultural Festival (85 Bradhurst Avenue)

From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Park, celebrate the most culturally diverse city in the world at the 7th Annual NYC Multicultural Festival. The festival will represent a plethora of different cultures through food, music, dance, and art.

The festival will also feature a "Love Yourself Pavilion," with free health screenings, HIV testing, massages, acupuncture, yoga, meditation, and more.

Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th.

Rose Garden Weekend at the New York Botanical Garden (2900 Southern Blvd - the Bronx)

This weekend, celebrate the most popular flower for romantics; the rose. Head up to the New York Botanical Garden for a weekend full of live music, plant care demonstrations, tours, and refreshments.

Currently, the beautiful roses at the NYBG's Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden are at 80% peak color, meaning they're big, ripe, and beautiful just in time for the weekend. Get your tickets here.

Daybreaker "80s GLAM" (2 Wyckoff Avenue - Brooklyn)

DAYBREAKER Week is kicking off with an 80s glam rock party, with a rockin' dance party at the House of Yes. If you're looking for your daily workout, get it from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. before the dance breaks out from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Looking for some caffeine to wake you up? Wegotchu. They're dolling out Califia Farms Cold Brew, juices, and breakfast goodies.

Can't make it Sunday? NBD. This party is going down all week long. Check out their schedule here, or enter to win four tickets to their Bermuda Beach Party at Space Ibiza on Friday right here
