We are so happy! We’re not number one!
Isn’t that awesome? Yes, in this case.
TimeOut NY shared NBC’s released list of cities with the most bedbugs, and New York City was on it.
Hold the panic for a second.
We weren’t at the top, Baltimore was. Washington and Chicago followed suit, before NYC. Cue an uneasy sigh of relief and two additions to the ‘not visiting for a while’ list.
The study is based on which cities had the most bedbug treatments performed in the past year. Despite not being at the top, bedbugs are a major concern beyond our mother’s nursery rhyme warning.
Us being on it alone isn’t too surprising when you consider that bedbugs spread easily in hotels, apartment buildings, college dorms and public transportation vehicles. Basically anywhere where someone can transport idle luggage or clothing.

But hey, at least NYC was in the same place last year, so it’s not getting worst. Or better.
Here are the top 10 cities with the most bedbugs:
1. Baltimore
2. Washington, D.C.
3. Chicago
4. New York City
5. Columbus, Ohio
6. Los Angeles
7. Detroit
8. Cincinnati
9. Philadelphia
10. San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose
You can check out the rest of the list here. Stay safe... and don't let the bedbugs bite!
