Scammers who promised to help an elderly woman find an apartment stole thousands of dollars from the unsuspecting victim, cops said.
After the con artists — two women and a man — said they would help her find a home — the 82-year-old was then taken to an HSBC Bank at 700 Park Place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn at about 12 p.m. on Oct. 25., police said.
Once there, she withdrew $10,000 from her bank account and handed it over to one of the women, who was captured in a photo released by police.
The persons of interest then left with the money. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers' website at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to CRIMES (274637), then enter TIP577.
All calls are strictly confidential.
