Going to the movies in New York City has been better (and waaay more luxe) than ever.
But guys. After a seriously long wait– okay, maybe we're just impatient– the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn is finally opening! So now we have options for a fancy schmancy movie night, especially us Brooklynites.
Next Friday, on October 28th, their doors will open for business and seriously level up NYC's movie theater game.
You can already grab your tickets.
In addition to playing new releases of blockbusters and indies, they'll be hosting exclusive screenings of older films, such as Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan in 35 mm as part of their "Terror Tuesday" series.
As reported by Eater NY, all the theaters feature reserved seating and in-movie wait service.
To order food, you mark it on a form and place it in the rail next to your seat– you can also order as many times as you need during the film, which is good for those of us who are dating popcorn hogs.
The food menu, besides the usual movie fare, is pretty extensive. You can order salads, hot wings, sandwiches, flatbreads, tacos, mac & cheese, and more, if you skipped dinner.

For snacking, they also sell hummus, chips & salsa, fresh baked cookies, baked pretzels, fried pickles, and offer toppings like herb parmesan and sriracha flakes for their popcorn.
They will also be serving beer, cocktails, and boozy milkshakes– cheers to no longer having to smuggle in tall boys at the bottom of your bag... we mean, wait what?
There is also another cocktail bar called House of Wax inside the theater that displays wax figures like these creepy AF babies featured above. Hard pass, tbh, but if that's your thing then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Alamo Drafthouse is an Austin- based chain and this Brooklyn location is their first in New York City. They're located at 445 Gold Street.
