For a City that's not thousands of years old, New York City has a surprising amount iconic buildings and locations, and the crazy part is that we're still demolishing, redeveloping, building, and polishing our skyline.

Much like other world class cities, NYC's most impressive landmarks are usually associated with wealthy and powerful individuals like Carnegie Hall or major urban planning projects with Central Park.

In a way, these efforts are meant to carry the memory of one person's prestige, or effectively preserve the ethos of a given era and generation.
