So how’s living in NYC going for you?
If you’re an out-of-town transplant, you might find that New York is growing on you in more ways than one, especially when it rubs off on your personality.
You should face the truth: if you weren’t a New Yorker before, you definitely are now.
All of us New Yorkers have been one of these types of people, at one point or another, during our daily NYC lives.
1. The person who has an angry outburst in public
You made it to the subway platform when the car was there, but it was also the same moment when the doors close, without at least giving you the chance to not stand clear of them.
You start dropping F-bombs, cursing those extra ten minutes you’ll have to wait before the next one shows up.
You attract the concerned glares of other commuters, but you’re no longer worried about coming off as a crazy fool to others.
2. The person who does the walk of shame across at least two boroughs
Uh oh, you woke up in Manhattan, and now you need to get back to Greenpoint.
You’ll slink back through Queens on the 7 and on the G to Brooklyn with runny makeup, last night’s wrinkled outfit, and a few unfortunately placed hickies. You’re the only one in on your sexy secret, but you can’t help but feel awkward-- as if everyone else knows too.
3. The person who cries in public
Some days, you just can’t wait until you get home and can flop face down in your bed to cry.
It could have been a bad day at work or a fight with your significant other that sent you over the edge, so just let it out, baby.
Sure, people will see you and ask you if you’re okay, or they’ll look at you with pity, but that’s not your priority right now.
4. The person who vomits in public
You have the WORST hangover right now, you’re like practically dying.
Don’t worry, that garbage can right in the middle of Central Park is the perfect place for you to deposit your puke.
Phew, you feel so much better now!
5. The drunk drama queen
Your friend’s bitchy friend caused a scene at the bar, and you feel the power and adrenaline of a potential ass kicking running through your veins.
Or, maybe you saw your hookup chatting it up with someone else and, just like that, your hopes are shattered.
You’re drunk and that much more awesome, so you’re ready to stir up some trouble wherever you are.
6. The Olympic gold medal runner
Usain Bolt, is that you?
Since moving to New York City, you’ve become so fast and light on your feet that you can make it practically anywhere in a reasonable amount of time, even if you get a late start.
Slow-moving people better stand clear of you, because you’re on a mission, and you’re not slowing down for anyone.
7. The scrappy broke person

You’re really proud of yourself for becoming an expert at paying for your bodega purchases using only quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies, and maybe even that occasional dollar coin.
