Look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... a Super Slice?
Is there any doubt that the best pizza in the world comes from New York? At this year's International Pizza Expo, a local pizza maker was named best in the world.
Plus, the most innovated slices and styles all come from New York. We recently talked about vegan pizza, Detroit style pizza, and even pizza with Katz's famous pastrami on it.
Now, there is a new slice that is causing uproars and pandemonium. Luckily, it's gonna save the day.
The Super Slice was created by The Pizza Barn, a Yonkers pizzeria that has been around for 40 years and wanted to create a hero that would put an end to competing villainous pizzerias around the area.
The two-foot slice was created by owner Angelo DeLuca when he wanted to create something that would simply draw crowds to his pizzeria.
DeLuca got the idea by thinking inside the pizza box.
He drew up the slice in the box and then got to making the super slice.
Seems like everyone is now trying to get crazy with pizza boxes, like Push For Pizza's box that can turn into a bowl for a nice puff of the devil's basil.
The slice costs $10 and is drawing crowds from all over the city. The wait is also super long as well. Some people have waited an hour for the slice.
A trip to Yonkers and an hour wait for a slice? We're not that super excited for the slice but if it flew over here we wouldn't mind trying it out.
