Bust Out Your Dabbin' Shoes: 8 Ways to Make This Weekend Absolutely Super in NYC

This weekend is Super Bowl Sunday. Oh, you haven't heard? Well, it is, and that means a lot of great drinks, some really great commercials, and, oh yeah, uh ... also football.

Another point of note is that there are two other days to the weekend besides Sunday, and the city will be turning up for Friday and Saturday just because it's the weekend.

We don't really need any other excuse than "it's the weekend" to get wild, do we?

We are glad you agree, because we've got some fun stuff for you to take part in this weekend. Like, there will be a Winter Carnival at Bryant Park, some beer and whiskey tastings, and a Soul on Ice Skating Party at Central Park on Saturday.

Want to know how else to get down in the city this weekend? Great. We've got that information for you right here. Read on to find out how to have the best weekend ever in New York City.

Friday, February 5th

1. Winter Carnival at the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park (41 West 40th Street)

Do you love fun? Well, who doesn't, right?

The Winter Carnival is a fun lover's paradise, and it comes at the right time. The time when we're all getting geared up for winter to end. The time when we could really use some good old fashioned curling lessons.

Yes, you read that right: curling lessons. Plus, there will also be an outdoor winter brew house, silent disco, a Winter Carnival skating showcase, and a warming lodge. For you, know, when you start to get chilly.

There will also be delicious food and hot drinks for sale at this otherwise free event. Plus a ping pong tournament. Plus Brew House trivia. Plus, did we mention fun?

It's going down on Friday February 5th and Saturday, February 6th, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. See you there.

Saturday, February 6th

2. Soul on Ice Winter Skating Party (830 5th Avenue)

This skating party held at the Lasker Rink in Central Park is an annual community event that brings together skaters, families, friends and communities.

Of course, you'll work up an appetite from skating; that's why there will be food. And of course, you want to jam out while you're skating; that's why there will be music, plus raffle prizes, and ice skating demonstrations.

Your $15 admission includes skate rentals, and the chance to have a total blast. Get your tickets here, and get ready to do some serious ice shredding.

3. Snowshoe and Whiskey Tasting (25 Union Square West)

Do you super secretly sort of miss the snow? Do you think the snow is super pretty? Do you sometimes super secretly feel like you need to get out of NYC?

Well, we're with you on every count. Another thing? We like getting good and buzzed on whiskey.

Why not get yourself two hours north of Manhattan to the beautiful Shawangunks Mountain, where there are no skyscrapers, street hawkers, or smelly subways. All you'll find there is pretty snow and tasty alcohol.

You'll get to snowshoe for six miles through the Minnewaska Preserve, and quench your thirst at the end with some whiskeys of your choice, and some vodkas too.

If you buy a ticket to this event, you'll meet in front of the Starbucks in Union Square at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 6th. Get your tickets here.

4. Big Brew NY (198 Central Avenue - White Plains)

twoseas23 So much fun! #bigbrewny

Have you been really feeling like you need to check out the MetroNorth? Well, if so, we have a really great suggestion for you.

The Big Brew NY beer festival is a two minute walk from the train station to the Westchester County Center in White Plains, and it'll afford you unfettered access to 200 different craft beers.

Yeah, getting way buzzed with as many beers as you can imagine, jamming to some excellent music, and getting down on some grub from really delicious eateries sounds like a great way to spend Saturday to us, too.

Plus, if you're a beer aficionado, you'll get to chat with brewery representatives as well. It'll be held on Saturday, February 6th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Grab your tickets here.

5. Chocolate Tour of New York (75 9th Avenue)

There's a pretty on-fire chocolate scene here in NYC for those who know where to get the goods. A great way to become that expert in the NYC chocolate scene would be to attend the Chocolate Tour of New York, which will meet at Chelsea Market on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Chelsea Market is basically a chocolate lover's paradise; it's got artisan chocolatiers, candy stores, and this tour will bring you to other types of chocolate bliss at other chocolate paradises. You'll sample mocha truffles, rich chocolate cream rolls, and more.

The main thing: be on time, or the tour will leave without you. Get there ten minutes early, in fact. Get your tickets here, and enjoy your Saturday of chocolate delight.

Sunday, February 7th

Plus, really stunning glassed-in views are cool too, aren't they? Yeah, we agree. They are.

The Broncos will take on the Panthers, you'll be drinking beers, well drinks, and throwing down on some delicious food. If you buy a general admission ticket, you'll receive two complimentary drinks. Who wants beers and shots? Who wants tequila shots and Tiger  beers for laughably inexpensive prices? Yeah, we do too.

We also want to watch the Super Bowl while chowing down on wings and other savory pub food, while catching the game projected on Evelyn Drinkery's huge screens.

[anad2]

There will be beer specials all night, plenty of snacks, games, and a raffle. So if you were worrying, asking yourself, "What should I do for the Super Bowl?" we're pretty sure you just found your answer.

It all starts at 4 p.m., and lasts as long as it lasts. Get your tickets here.

8. Super Bowl 50 at Brooklyn Bowl (61 Wythe Avenue - Brooklyn)

brooklynbowl #SUPERBOWL! Join us at @brooklynbowl for the ultimate #SuperBowlSunday on FEB 7! Enjoy the game on 14 high-definition screens, in full concert sound + food and drink specials all night! #nocover #superbowl50 #gameday #nfl #football #camnewton #peytonmanning #broncos #panthers #brooklyn #brooklynbowl

Brooklyn Bowl is one of the city's coolest attractions, if you ask us, and they're throwing a completely free Super Bowl party.

Brooklyn Bowl will be serving up delicious food and drinks, and will be playing the game on a ton of HD screens which will blast the game with full sound, and a totally insane party atmosphere.

Plus, you might as well match the Bronco's and Panther's intensity with some of your own, right? While the two teams dab on each other, you can, dab your way across the lanes after every strike and gutter ball. Plus, obviously, chowing on Blue Ribbon chicken and getting drunk.

You won't need tickets, but it will be a first-come, first-served entry, so getting there on the earlier side is the move.
