It's no secret that Brooklyn's neighborhoods just keep getting pricier. It used to be that Brooklyn was an affordable alternative to living an Manhattan, but in the real estate climate of the past couple of years, that hasn't been the case.
Only one Brooklyn neighborhood made it into New York City's 20 most expensive neighborhoods in 2015. The other 19 were all in ... wait for it ... you guessed it. Manhattan.
Still, Brooklyn is reeling in the aftermath of a construction boom, soaring median prices, and higher and higher rents.
PropertyShark was kind enough to compile Brooklyn's 20 most expensive neighborhoods into one nifty list, so we could scroll through it and check out all the neighborhoods we can't afford.
Is Brooklyn still less expensive than Manhattan? Yes, but it's at the point where living in DUMBO is much more expensive than living in Harlem.
In 2015, Brooklyn's median home price hit an all-time high of $560,000. The luxury market clocked in 570 sales, a record-breaking number, and Brooklyn's most expensive property sale in 2015? Well, one property in Brooklyn sold for $15.5 million.
