Watch 'Star Wars' Star John Boyega Surprise Fans During Last Night's Screenings in NYC

In case you've been living under a rock, Star Wars has officially taken over New York City over this past week.

Between Star Wars Legos hitting the streets of NYC and these incredibly epic signs about the Dark Side plastered all over our city, it's been an absolutely forceful week for the franchise leading up to the release.

But perhaps last night events top the cake.

Star Wars fans watching 'The Force Awakens' all across the city last night were in for a huge surprise.

Actor John Boyega, who plays Finn in the new film, popped in to surprise audience members in Regal Union Square Stadium, AMC Loews Lincoln Square, Williamsburg Cinema, and other NYC theaters.

“Had an amazing time meeting you all and again thank you for all the support,” he wrote on his Instagram account.

The film has already surpassed $100 million in North America and $250 million globally, including an opening day record of $120.5 million.

Disney projects a weekend total of around $220 million in the United States, which would surpass the record $208.8 million of “Jurassic World.” Impressive, we know.
