We might be famous for our pizza, bagels, and tall buildings, but we have it going on in other areas in this city, too.

Like, for instance, the donut game here is pretty strong. If you've been to a coffee cart, bakery, or bodega, you already knew that. We've got some pretty amazing donut shops, a donut rat, and that $100 donut made from gold and champagne. And we're pleased to report the game just got stronger.

Just how strong, you're wondering? Well, there's a donut fest coming to New York City this month, and it's going to be huge.

If you're a donut enthusiast, you need to listen up, and you need to listen carefully. It's NYC's first ever Donut Fest, and it'll be held on January 23rd.

Where will it be? Well, you've got all the pertinent questions, don't you! It'll be held at Verboten in Williamsburg, which will be transformed into a certified donut heaven for the day. 

The total number of participating donut shops planning to participate is yet to be determined, but we do know there will be a lot, and that you should pace yourselves as you make the rounds of the delicious, fluffy, doughy booths.

You'll get 1/4 of a donut serving from each participant. You'll get coffee servings, too, so there will be dipping.

You also get to indulge in these donuts completely guilt free. This event was engineered with the purpose to raise money for charity, so, you get to ingest all these donuts knowing you're doing so for a great cause. 

The whole thing will be broken into three sessions. The first will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will include limited crowds, three coffee tickets, a Donut Fest mug, and will cost $50.

The second session will be between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the third will be between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Both will cost $35.

Even better news: your voice matters. All ticket holders get to vote for the crowd's favorite donut, so all participants aren't just taste aficionados: you're also judges.
