Sleeping in New York City is a mixed bag.  

On the one hand, there's so much to do in this city that it never feels like there are enough hours in the day to see it all, eat it all, drink it all, or do it all, so we just, you know, don't sleep. 

On the other hand, this city is expensive as hell. Rent, food, drinks, sights-- everything has a pretty steep price tag, so not working hard to afford it all just isn't an option. Ergo, we must sleep. 

But what about those times when a good night's sleep feels so far away? What do you do? 

Unfortunately, yet hilariously, if you're a real New Yorker, you just sleep where you can.

Oh, that Casper bed of yours that you're longing for is too far away? No worries. Just pass out on the subway. Nobody really minds, right?

While people sleeping on subways always falls among the funniest things you'll see in NYC, it's also just kind of sad. Like, should someone tuck them in or what? Do they need a night light? Who read them Goodnight Moon? Oh, nobody?

Sadly, too many New Yorkers fall asleep this exact way: no Casper bed, no snuggles, no Goodnight Moon, just legs swung up on the subway bench trying to catch as many z's as they can before their stop (or right on through their stop if they're skillfully unlucky). 

Too many New Yorkers aren't capitalizing on the hours of sleep they most certainly need, or, worse, they're waking up in the middle of the night because they got a mattress that feels more like a subway bench than an actual mattress.
